Climate Networks 2.0
Enabling Social Innovations Through a Structural Establishment of Governance Processes
As part of the inter- and transdisciplinary collaborative research project ClimateNetworks 2.0, a "Platform for Engagement in Climate Protection" is to be established in Bielefeld. In order to make climate change mitigation possible, the platform aims to bring people from all spheres of society together to activate and support commitment, and to offer publicity to those who are engaged. The vision is turning climate change mitigation in Bielefeld into a big movement and tackle it as a collective task by each and everyone.
A concept as well as financing and support structures for the platform are to be developed in cooperation between science and practice so that the platform can be continued after the end of the project. In addition, the extent to which the platform can be transferred to other topics and places will be examined. All this will be accompanied by theory-based research. The guiding questions are: How do climate change mitigation networks develop? And: How do social innovations emerge?
With the ClimateNetworks 2.0 project, results and tools from the predecessor project ClimateNetworks will be further developed, implemented, sustained and transferred.
